New GL Science Vessel Site On Line!

Our new site: http://www.glsciencevessels.org/  is now on line! This
replaces the old static version and provides access to our database of
vessels engaged in research, monitoring, education and public outreach
efforts throughout the basin.  We have incorporated many new features in
response to your suggestions made at our 6th annual workshop in Cleveland
last year.  The new site provides three main levels of access: 
	The public can view the list of vessels; see vessel data, pictures,
access reports and links posted on the site.  
	Vessel operators can update data and pictures of their ship, post a
schedule of operations, and post job openings.  
	Registered users can view vessel schedules and search for ships
operating in selected areas at selected times.  
If you are a vessel operator and wish to update your data, schedule or if
you want to enter a vessel that is currently not included in the list please
send me an e-mail, and I will provide you with a vessel username and
password. New users who are not vessel operators can sign up on the web page
to view vessel operating schedules.  I would appreciate feedback on how we
should develop pages featuring shipyards and suppliers and news (which have
not been developed yet) and other areas for improvement.  We loaded the new
site early so you would have a chance to check it out before we discuss it
during our workshop March 13-14th. Please let me know if you would like to
serve on a web site management subcommittee to identify and implement new
