Superior Solvents and Chemicals
P2 Techies-
I thought I had circulated this subject before, but have had no response:
I am working with boat manufacturers who commonly use both "SuperBlue" and
"S280" (Superior brand) for resin and gelcoat cleaning. They are either
managed separately as wastes or as a mixed stream. Do any of you know some
reclamation processes or distillation capabilities for these? They are
composed as follows:
SuperBlue LF Resin Cleaner
diproplyene glycol methy ether 1-5%
Boiling Point 212 degrees F
Specific Gravity 1.07
Vapor Pressure 17.5 mm Hg
Water Solubility 100%
S280 Super Flush
dimethyl glutarate 29%
oxybispropanolmethylether 9%
dimethyl adipate 9%
dimethyl succinate 9%
Boiling Point 368 degrees F
Specific Gravity 1.064
Vapor Pressure 0.0119 psi
Water Solubility 23.987%
Often the S280 is often contaminated with acetone, which is used for drying.
All help muchly appreciated...
