Earth Day: Sunday, April 22

Wisconsin's Great Lakes Connection

The Madison, Wisconsin-based Biodiversity Project and Wisconsin Public Television are teaming up for a special series of broadcasts about Wisconsin's connection to the Great Lakes this April on Wisconsin Public Television's In Wisconsin, which airs on Thursdays at 7:00 pm.

Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum, Inc.

The Icebreaker Mackinaw, following its decommissioning in June 2006, is now moored at its home in Mackinaw City, Mich. The ship is now operating as a public museum telling the story of its 62-year career breaking ice on the upper Great Lakes.

Lake Superior Pathfinders 2007

Pathfinders allows high school students to learn about leadership style using ropes courses and climbing walls, get immersed in the Lake Superior environment and explore its estuaries, kayak to its sea caves and investigate the lake's critical issues. The 2007 summer program offers three sessions in July.

New York State Wetlands Forum

The New York State Wetlands Forum, Inc. is a non-advocacy organization comprised of individuals and groups with diverse backgrounds, interests and viewpoints regarding wetlands and their science, use and management. The 2007 Annual Meeting will be held April 25-26 in Lake Placid, New York.

National Park Week

National Park Week, April 22-29, is an annual Presidentially proclaimed week for celebration and recognition of our National Parks. Check for events in your area or participate in March For Parks, an event held annually as an initiative to celebrate and conserve local, state, regional and national parks.
