The NOAA Great Lakes Ice Atlas is a national resource for those seeking information on Great Lakes ice cover climatology. It provides a benchmark of ice cover and ice cover variation of the Great Lakes for the period 1973-2002. Related information can be found at the National Snow and Ice Center and the Canadian Ice Service.

The Great Lakes Wiki relies on the experience and knowledge of a network of citizens, including scientists, anglers, lakeside property owners, boaters, business operators and others who care about the Great Lakes region. Using the same technology as that of the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia, they can report on issues in a way that integrates them with each other.
