The Beach Network

The Beach Network is a group of individuals and institutions dedicated to improving beach monitoring and management through communication. This new web site offers various discussion forums for beach managers, scientists and concerned citizens who want to share information regarding all aspects of beach safety -- health and management, marine and freshwater, lakes and riverine, private and public.

Michigan Groundwater Mapping Project

As mandated by Public Act 148 in 2003, this groundwater inventory and associated mapping interface were generated for the state of Michigan. Among the data included: location, water yield capabilities and recharge rates of aquifers; static levels of groundwater; base flow of rivers and streams; surface waters; aggregate agricultural water use; and consumptive use by township.

MIair provides Michigan residents with current monitoring data, next day forecasts, the Air Quality Index, automated notification options via e-mail, animated real-time maps, and much more information about Michigan's air quality.

Superior Watershed Partnership

The Superior Watershed Partnership is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of the rivers and watersheds of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Fall Color Reports from Ohio

Ohio's 74 state parks, 20 state forests and 130 state nature preserves provide excellent locations to sample the splendid fall foliage. A chart shows current reports from selected locations. Also check out the view from various forest fire lookout towers in Ohio.

Urban Open Space Foundation

The Urban Open Space Foundation (UOSF) is committed to creating and enhancing open space networks that strengthen simultaneously the environmental, social, political, and economic climates of communities. UOSF seeks to do this by joining with others to bring sustainable land use practices, as well as beautiful design, to Wisconsin's cities.
