Great Lakes Regional Collaboration

The Great Lakes Regional Collaboration -- which brings together a federal Task Force, the Great Lakes states, local communities, Tribes and other interests -- met in Chicago on Friday, Dec. 3. The Conveners Meeting was the official launch of this important effort to design a strategy to restore and protect the Great Lakes.

Group on Earth Observations (GEO)

33 nations plus the European Commission have committed to move toward development of a comprehensive, coordinated, and sustained Earth observation system. This initiative has affirmed the need for timely, quality, long-term, global information as a basis for sound management of the planet's resources.

EECO 2005 Environment & Energy Conference

Taking place May 26-27, 2005, in Toronto, EECO is designed to promote dialogue, share ideas and innovation, build new relationships, profile best practices, debate cross-border environmental and clean energy policy, and support trade throughout the Great Lakes states and provinces.

Coastal GeoTools '05

The 2005 Coastal GeoTools conference will be in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on Mar. 7-10. The goals of the conference are to promote the understanding and applied uses of geospatial data and tools for studying and effectively managing the coast and to further the goals of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
