Canada-United States Relations

Joint stewardship of our shared environment is a cornerstone of the Canada-United States relationship, and will increase in importance as both countries face the environmental challenges of the 21st century.

International Joint Commission

Established by the Boundary Waters Treaty of 1909, the IJC assists governments in finding solutions to problems involving waters that lie along, or flow across, the border between the United States and Canada.

Chronic Wasting Disease

A report discussing the interface between research and management of the wildlife illness known as chronic wasting disease based on interviews with wildlife ecologists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the USGS National Wildlife Health Center in Madison.

2004 Summer Ship Program Schedule

Great Lakes Icebreaker Replacement

The U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw is scheduled to be decommissioned in 2006. Manitowoc Marine Corperation has been contracted to construct a new multi-purpose icebreaking vessel for launch in 2005. The new cutter will also be called Mackinaw.
