Objectives and Rationale:
The annual meeting will focus on policy, management, and scientific
developments regarding recreational water quality monitoring of Great Lakes
beaches.  The morning session will be devoted to presentations by invited
speakers, followed by reports on state or local monitoring programs.  The
afternoon will be devoted to a Science and Technology Session for which the
Association is seeking presentations related to the topics listed below.  We
hope to include a broad group of experts to encourage the sharing of
information affecting all of the beaches on the Great Lakes.  Abstracts will
be peer reviewed and authors will be notified as to their acceptance and
whether the presentation will be in oral or poster format.

Scope: Possible subjects to be included in the Science and Technology
Session include but are not limited to:  Source identification, rapid
testing, improvements in monitoring programs, health effects, economic
studies, modeling/hydrology, retrospective studies, risk communication,
emerging technologies

Abstracts due: 9/15/02

Notification of format: 10/1/02

Authors: Please submit abstracts electronically as a Word or WordPerfect
attachment.  Abstracts should be in 12-point font and no more than 300
words. Title and author(s) should be followed immediately by contact
information, including address, phone number, and email address. Presenting
author's name should be in bold.  In addition to abstract, authors should
include a 4-5 sentence biographical sketch.  Please submit abstracts
