For those who enjoy cleaning up lakefront beaches and parks, volunteers are needed at Ohio's Coastweeks cleanups. These cleanups are part of an international coastal cleanup effort. The Ocean Conservancy oversees the Coastweeks program and cleanup effort, both nationally and internationally. Other Ohio Coastweeks events will include a canoe float, island tours, interpretive nature walks, beach campouts and campfires, kayaking, sandcastle contests and much more.

Ohio's Coastweeks is coordinated by the Ohio Lake Erie Commission through the Ohio Lake Erie Commission Office. The Ohio Lake Erie Commission is comprised of the directors of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and the departments of Natural Resources, Transportation, Development, Health and Agriculture.
