BEACHNET==> IWA Biofilm Conference in Davis - submisison of abstracts by March 1

Dear Beachnet Colleagues:

It occurred to me that this upcoming conference may be of interest to you. Biofilms in recreational waters are thought to constitute a considerable reservoir for pathogens and fecal indicator bacteria alike. The meeting is a great way to learn more about biofilms and meet professionals and researchers working on different aspects but unifying fundamentals that inform how we interpret the significance of biofilms in the environment.

My apologies if you receive this announcement multiple times. As local organizer I invite you to join me in Davis in September 2009. The deadline for abstracts is March 1, 2009. Details are below, in the attached flyer, and on our conference website.

Kind regards

Processes in Biofilms: Fundamentals to Applications

September 13-16, 2009
Davis, California, USA

The aims of this event are to provide a forum for biofilm researchers in academia and industry to test their knowledge, gather new insights into related biofilm fields, and define future research objectives. Particular emphasis will be placed on single sessions during the day, with planned and unplanned break-out sessions in the evening. Deadline for abstract submission is March 1. Please see attached flyer and web site for more information:

The meeting will be held on the Davis campus of the University of California, a green campus within easy walking distance from downtown. Davis is close to Sacramento Airport and can serve as excellent starting point for further exploration of California’s coastline, national parks and wine country. Daytime temperatures in September vary from 20 to 25°C with low relative humidity.

On behalf of the local organizing committee, I extend to you this invitation and hope to see you at the conference!
