BEACHNET==> Final Notice: GLBA Elected Board Nominations

To those of you who have made nominations, thank you very much.  The nominees will be asked to accept their nominations and send a small bio.    The nomination period ends this Friday, February 6th.  If you would like to nominate someone please do so before COB Friday.

GLBA NOMINATION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Great Lakes Beach Association is soliciting nominations for individuals to stand for election to four (4) positions on the Elected

Board.  A document describing the structure and organization of the GLBA, and the role of Elected Board members can be found
here. We seek nominees who can represent any of the following categories: research and academia; local, state, federal (US or Canada), tribal beach regulation or beach management; and health departments/public health.  Once the new Elected Board is constituted, one of the Elected Board members will be elected to serve as President of the GLBA (see GLBA Administration PDF).  Therefore, nominees who run for office should be prepared for the possibility of serving as President of the GLBA.

Solicitation for nominations will be open until
February 6.  Self-nominations are encouraged.  Nominations should be sent to Krystalynn Frohnapple (kfrohnapple@usgs.gov).  Once all of the nominations have been gathered, the candidates for GLBA Board membership will be asked to send a description of their background and interests to Krystalynn to be posted to the GLBA website for consideration by the GLBA membership.

Elections will be held
the week of February 16.  Votes can be sent in an email to Krystalynn with the subject line "My Vote".  Votes will be kept confidential and will be summarized by an independent party.  Announcements of new Board members will be made the week of February 23.

Thank you,
