BEACHNET==> Can you help??

Hi BeachNet Members!

Are you aware of any beaches significantly impaired by non-POTW sources
(ie., fecal contamination not associated with a wastewater treatment
plants)? To help obtain information that the US EPA Office of Water can
consider in developing revised recreational water criteria, the US EPA
Office of Research and Development is collecting information on
potential study sites where the predominant source of high levels of
fecal contamination is not due to POTWs, but is due to animal sources or
untreated sources (e.g., urban runoff). Specific information we are
interested in at this time is:
Beach location and whether there is a significant swimming
      population for potential epidemiology studies:
What is known about sources of fecal contamination:
What data/analyses exists on indicator levels and
      hydrological/meteorological variables:
      Contact for further information:
Please try to send your response to Bruce Mintz, US EPA Office of
Research and Development (mintz.bruce@epa.gov ) by no later than
   April 11th.

   Thank you
