RE: BEACHNET==> Book on modeling beach water quality is now available.

Thank you for your kind words, Dustin. Perhaps your wife will enjoy the
movie when it comes out!

FYI, I really enjoyed this book (Statistical Framework for Recreational
Water Quality Criteria and Monitoring), though my wife was amazed that I
could be so entertained by a "textbook". Wymer et al. did a great job.
The book really brings together a number of topics related to water
quality statistics that I had always pondered, but didn't have enough
time to sufficiently evaluate on my own.

For instance:

Which is better, the arithmetic or geomean?
How do different models (e.g. Partial Least Squares) compare at
predicting exceedances at the same beach?
How does one pair down the significant parameters when creating such a
model?
Why not just use microbial risk assessment models?
etc etc

Great job to all those involved.

Dustin
