After another eventful summer it does
not surprise me that there is so much recent activities on beachnet@great-lakes.net.
One reason is that it's time to look back, do some clean up and see
what worked and didn't.
Beachnet is a communication tool for
doing that. Nonetheless, we can overload our readers with exchanges
between individuals and I very often get request to unsubcribe during these
intense beachnet@great-lakes.net. discussions. When responding to
an inquiry remember that are over 600 people getting your message when
you address it to beachnet@great-lakes.net. One way to avoid overloading
the membership is to restrict your reply to the person requesting information
or individuals you know might be interested in the subject.
The VERY best thing is to put it on
the forum on the webpage http://www.beachnet.info/ . This webpage
was specifically made for this purpose but has been underused. It
is not restricted to listserve recipients . Consider simultaneously
putting your question on the http://www.beachnet.info/ at the same
time you post it on beachnet.great-lakes.net listserve. That way,
the question can be answered worldwide without congesting traffic on the
listserve. Also consider posting announcements, reports and links
on beachnet.info.
Remember,
http://www.beachnet.info/
and don't forget to tell your friends
about the webpage and listserve
