Re: Fw: ice sculptures

Richard and Krystalynn -

It doesn't seem to appear in any of the  categories we assembled for LakeSuperiorStreams.org.  See http://lakesuperiorstreams.org/understanding/ice.html   and its link to http://www.crrel.usace.army.mil/ierd/ice_guide/iceguide.htm  to the Army Corps.

If someone turns up more information, would you please let us know so we can add it to our website.

Thanks...Rich Axler

Kystal Potts at our station  took these pictures on the beach yesterday.  They are quite unusual formations.  Does anybody know how they are formed.

I have never been to the beach in the winter time, so I was pretty amused by these ice sculptures along the shoreline.  I can't wait to see some shelf-ice.
