Fw: MST guide

Hi, Richard and/or other BeachNet administrator.

I was pleased to receive notice of the document written by Dr. Bitton summarizing the field of  MST.  Thank you for passing it as a reference resource to the BeachNet group.

You might be interested to know that a similar, but more extensive, MST guide document is on the cusp of being released by USEPA.  It was co-written by 18 authors representing USEPA, USGS, NOAA, USDA, Environment Canada, State and Local organizations, and several academic researchers.  I'll let you know when I hear that document is ready for official distribution, perhaps within the next month.

At a glance, it does not appear that the MST guide and Dr. Bitton's document are at all contradictory; rather, the MST guide goes into greater depth since it represents the combined knowledge of 18 experts in the field.

Best regards,

Don
