FYI for us in the Great Lakes; I am passing along an email that I
received.

Hot off the press:

President Bush today signed the enclosed executive order establishing
a
cabinet-level Great Lakes Interagency Task Force to coordinate, give
annual
reports, and make recommendations.  The Great Lakes are referred to as
a
national treasure, and the new Task Force is to establish a regional
collaboration of national significance.  The EPA has the lead.  There
will
also be a Working Group headed by GLNPO that will report to the Task
Force.
The Task Force will met right after the next Cabinet meeting, or soon
thereafter.

There is both a Senate and House briefing today on the executive
order.
I'll be going to the House briefing at 2 p.m.

In the Basin in Chicago at 3:30 EDT/2:30 CDT on the Navy Pier will be
an
announcement in person by Mike Leavitt, Bob Taft, Richard Daley, James
Connaughton (CEQ), Vice Admiral Lautenbacher (Commerce-NOAA), and John
Woodley (ACOE) of this new regional collaboration.
