Here's a response to Janet's question from Muskegon, but I think she's already aware that the Muskegon Conservation District uses the petrifilm method in conjunction with our volunteer and teacher/student stream macroinvertebrate program. We don't report the e.coli results, but rather, we encourage volunteers and teachers use the petrifilm at their adopted area before allowing students to be exposed to stream water. We're not monitoring beaches on Lake Michigan with volunteers, however our county health department does.
