Local Tranportation
Several people have asked about lodging and transportation. For people
electing to stay in downtown Chicago, there is easy pubic transportation by
way of the Metra Electric South Shore Branch. You would pick up this train
at Randolf and Michigan Avenue and get off at South Shore Station which is
right in next to the Cultural Center. Alternately, you can take either the
Green or Red Line Rail. If you take the Red Line you need to get off at
69th St. go upstairs and take the 71st Street bus to Yates Street in front
of the Cultural Center. The Green Line takes you to 63rd and Cottage
Grove. You then take walk downstairs and take the 27/ S. Deering bus and
get off at corner of 71st and South Shore. Here is a map showing the
transportation routes.

If you need more assistance you can call the Cultural Center at
312-747-2536. Note that the number on the annoucement flyer is wrong.
Alternate Lodging and Transportation
Several people are staying in Portage, Indiana which is on my way to the
meeting. I can pick people up at the hotel and drive them directly to the
meeting on the morning of the meeting. I just need your email address and
phone number so I can confirm where your staying and what time I'm picking
you up (probably 6:45-7:00 am). I will pick people up at two motels. Days
Inn 6161 Melton Road, Portage 219-926-2136 has a special this week for $39
for a single plus tax. Ramada Inn at 6200 US Hwy 20 Mountain Rod. Portage
rooms are $50 plus tax.
Agenda
I will be sending out the final agenda this week. The elements of the
agenda have not changed but were still working on timing because of the
great response from our call for abstracts.
