GL Beach Minutes

Attached you will find a draft copy of the minutes from the Nov. 7 meeting
of the Association held in Muskegon.  We are much indebted to Dr. Geeta
Rijal and Holly Wirick for taking notes and preparing these minutes.
Please read over it carefully for accuracy and content.  Send me any
changes you  might have and I will incorporate them.  I hope I got the
Executive Committee membership right, if I missed you let me know.  There
are several outstanding issues that were tabled.  We have at least two
names for ourselves that we are using:  1)Great Lakes Beach Management
Association, 2)
Great Lakes Association for Healthy Recreational Waters.   Great Lakes
Recreational Waters Association(3) and
Great Lakes Recreational Water Quality Association (4) were also suggested.

Please nominate any other organizational names that you would like to have
considered. Provide comment any the one suggested.  I will consolidate and
reissue the names for a vote.

We seem to have consensus on our mission statement:
The pursuit of healthy water conditions within the Great Lakes in
collaborative efforts to coordinate research, implement best management
practices, and conduct successful public outreach.
Any further comment of this statement.

Other issues brought up at the meeting will be addressed by the Executive
Committee or by listserve polls.

The Association's BEACHNET listserve currently has 276 subscribers!  Only
one person has asked to be unsubscribed to date.
