Great Lakes Now Connect: Beaches (5/14) On May 14, Detroit Public Television and The Nature Conservancy teamed up to broadcast a new Great Lakes Now Town Hall event. The discussion, focused on Great Lakes beaches, is available to view online. Due to a winter that was mild but still deposited a lot of ice along the Lake Erie shore, less sand will be needed than expected to get the beaches in shape. Cleveland City Council approves lease of lakefront parks to Cleveland Metroparks The Plain Dealer (4/22) Cleveland City Council voted unanimously Monday to transfer management of the state-run lakefront parks to the Cleveland Metroparks.
